Begin Fresh
I have now attended 8 Bikram Yoga classes. That is 12 hours of yoga in a room approximately 115 degrees. Each class lasts 90 minutes and consists of 26 poses. By the time I leave class, I’m dripping sweat everywhere. It’s a time where I can close out everything in my world and focus only on the moment. Each move is about becoming in tune with your body. It takes great patience. As a perfectionist I want to be able to master all of the moves in one class, which is utterly impossible. Each time I go I strive to do a bit more than I did in the previous class.
In this short amount of time I have lost inches already. The extra “bulk” weight is gone. I feel amazing. In order to survive the class, you must remain hydrated. I am consistently drinking 10-12 glasses of water. I have more energy than ever, and that is without my crutch of coffee!!
I so did not know that Comcast On Demand has free workout programs!! I’m super excited!! Today I started with Bethenny Frankel’s Skinnygirl Workout. It was a nice flow. I then completed Root Chakra Yoga with Maya Fiennes. The Root Chakra at the base of the spine is essential in the elimination of toxins. It felt amazing!! I feel truly relaxed and ready to face the rest of the day.
What a great way to start a Monday and a new week!!
Week 1 of my new workout regime went well for the most part. I was super sore, but feeling so good at the same time.
I didn’t get a chance to write about a couple days this week. Wednesday I did Les Mills Combat: Combat 60-Extreme Cardio Fighter. Thursday I did TurboFire: Stretch 40.
I took yesterday as my rest day. By the end of the day I was in so much pain!! I was even Googling appendicitis because my right side hurt so bad. It was a long night. I’m thinking I shouldn’t workout today either until my body calms down completely. I have no idea what is causing the pain.
I got a a Living Social deal for 10 classes of Bikram Yoga! I’m super excited. It was an amazing deal! I can’t wait to start the classes.
Today was P90X Shoulders and Arms. Wow, it felt great. I had forgotten how much I love feeling super sore!! I missed this feeling. I pushed myself to the max! Afterwards I definitely enjoyed my recovery formula….it was so yummy!
For an afternoon snack I had some Vegan Chocolate Shakeology with chocolate/peanut butter PB2 and Almond milk.
Today I did P90X Chest & Back. I also did the P90X Ab Ripper X. Man did it feel good. It’s been awhile since I completed P90X, but it felt like I was going back to an old friend. It’s always interesting to me how when I do ARX after a time of not doing it, my hip flexors get a good workout as well as my abs. The pullups felt good. I’m determined to keep going on my fitness journey.
On another note, if you haven’t tried the new Shakeology, please let me know if you would be interested in trying it. They have a come out with a new and improved taste for the chocolate. Shakeology really can make a difference in your life!!
Yesterday I went to LA Fitness for the first time since I signed up a few days ago. I decided to attend a spin class. Oh how I missed spin classes!!! They truly work your body in an AMAZING way!!
Today was my facial day. Once a month I endure pain and amazing rituals in an effort to have a better looking face. Jerome is absolutely the greatest. He has done great wonders. It’s always a fun bit of “me” time. Today he added in a few minutes of a massage. It totally helped take away the stress from the past month!
Well, I had a lot planned into yesterday, and I was really craving the feeling from a good run! I made the mistake of giving in and going for a run. For those of you with Runner’s Knee(s), don’t make the mistake of going running! I wasn’t in a ton of pain right away, but about 3 hours after, the pain really broke through. Steps were next to impossible and just normal walking around was hurting. I went out with friends last night as an early birthday celebration, and I could barely walk. We went to the beach, and I could barely walk. When we went to leave the restaurant, they had to drive up to get me, because I couldn’t make it all the way out to the parking lot. How embarrassing!!! I looked like I was way older than my 26 years. The pain was excruciating! That will be the last run I take for a long time!!
I went ahead and joined LA Fitness. I think the Spin classes will be a great complement to the at home workouts of Les Mills Combat, ChaLean Extreme and Turbo Fire. I’m super, super excited!!
Well, Aleve and IcyHot are my friends today throughout the pain. I won’t make this mistake again any time soon!!
